On Monday, September 19, 2016, LUISS students, instructors and administrative staff can sign up for LUISS Green Mobility.
Starting on September 26, 2016, on the LUISS campuses located on Viale Romania, Via Parenzo and Viale Pola, 18 electric cars, 24 assisted-pedal bikes and 12 electric scooters, including respective charging stations, will be available 24 hours a day.
To use the service:
- register with your LUISS badge number and credit or pre-paid card number
- complete the validation process at one of the three on-campus offices by handing in a signed copy of the contract, sent out by email during the registration process, and showing a valid driver's license
Registered users can then download the service’s smartphone app. After creating an account using the credentials assigned during registration, users can use the app to see which vehicles are available at charging stations on all three campuses and start using them immediately.
Sessions are authenticated through a security procedure using a one-time password that will be sent to users’ smartphones after submitting a rental request. LUISS Green Mobility vehicles can access limited traffic zones and park in blue spaces without paying, however vehicles must always be brought back to LUISS campuses and plugged into charging stations.
Using a B.O.M.T.S. (Banking Operation Maintenance Telematics Security) platform, the service will be in a testing phase until October 9, 2016. Electric Drive Italia will be collecting constructive feedback through the EDI Helpdesk.
During the initial phase, the service will have promotional fares:
- car sharing: 20 cents/hour
- bike and scooter sharing: free
After October 10, 2016 prices will follow the official pricing plan.
