From May 22 until June 7, the second annual Festival of Sustainable Development welcomes companies, institutions and representatives of civil society to meet and discuss sustainable development objectives in light of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
This year, LUISS is participating in a series of activities dedicated to health, wellness, quality education, economics, sustainable budgets and shared growth.
For 17 days, the University campus will host live events, workshops and talks to bring awareness to the academic and student communities on themes related to sustainability.
From visits to the LUISS Community Garden, where students participate in all phases of the garden’s cycle, to LUISS Green Mobility, the sustainable vehicle sharing program with cars, bikes and scooters for the entire University community, to the Premio Non Sprecare [Do Not Waste Prize], to participation in urban redevelopment projects with Retake Roma.
Additional themes on display during the first week of the festival are sports, integration, volunteer work, legality and civil commitment. Additionally, a group of student participants in Progetto Legalità e Merito [Project Legality and Merit] will speak about their experiences as value ambassadors, speaking about the importance of respecting the law in schools around Italy.
The festival also dedicates space to the civil economy, to social enterprise and cooperatives in order to speak about the values of sustainable development. The festival ends by tackling broad themes such as digital humanism, the rights of minors and immigration.
The UN will once again be the protagonist of a LUISS event on May 30, when Villa Blanc hosts the presentation of the Italian chapter of Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), an initiative that promotes sustainability in business schools around the world.
