Curiosity, respect, and listening. These are the key words of the event “Migration and the Encounter Between Cultures”, promoted by Luiss as part of the PRO-BEN LAZIO 2 project and dedicated to the theme of migration and intercultural encounters.
The event will be held on June 4, 2025, at 5 p.m. in Aula Toti at the Luiss Campus on Viale Romania.
The initiative stems from the awareness that every encounter with others brings opportunities for growth, but also profound challenges—especially when intertwined with stories of migration and the need to build a new balance in an unfamiliar context.
The first speaker will be Michele Gradoli, Head of Tutoring and the Luiss Welcome Desk, who will share his daily experience of welcoming and supporting students from all over the world with his talk "The Value of Differences". A story about intercultural dialogue, challenges, and achievements within an increasingly international university environment.
Following this, Professor Lorenzo Tarsitani, Head of the Migrant Outpatient Clinic and Associate Professor of Psychiatry, will examine the psychological and clinical implications of migration with his talk “Migration, Cultural Exchange, and Mental Health”.
The event offers the academic community an open opportunity to reflect—through a multidisciplinary lens—on intercultural relationships and the importance of psychosocial well-being in educational settings.
