Study plans can only be compiled online through the Web Self Service within the time periods provided for your degree program and year of registration. Outside of these periods it will not be possible to make selections or change selections already made.
For students that do not make a selection or do not confirm it within the established deadlines, a departmental study plan will be created, which cannot be changed.
Before accessing the Web Self Service to make your choices, please read the following table, paying attention to your degree program and year of registration:
Students who intend to graduate in the Extraordinary Session of the A.Y. 2023-2024 (March-April 2025) cannot make changes to their study plans nor add any additional courses.
Students at the end of their last year of enrollment, who will enroll outside the prescribed timeframe for A.Y. 2024-2025, who wish to make changes to their study plan must register for A.Y. 2024-2025 as repeating students, subject to submitting that request to the Student Office.

Rules for compiling study plans – A.Y. 2024-2025
- JUNE 2024
The selections to be made in June 2024 refer to the academic year 2024-2025, therefore the study plan will be activated and visible on Web Self Service page when the student enrolls in this academic year, after deadline for the payment of first installment (July 19, 2024).
Elective Courses (June 2024)
For elective courses there is a maximum number of students that can register in any given course. Once this limit has been reached, the student will see the course marked as no spaces left. It is possible that this information will change during the study plan compilation period if some students decide not to take the course, as then the course might become available again. For this reason, students are advised to periodically check the availability of the courses they are interested in by the deadline, if they were not able to select the course earlier because it was full.
If a selected course or course of study is not activated, the students will be contacted by the Student Office to compile their study plan again.
TAKE NOTE
- If core courses/elective courses/other activities or language courses have already been included in the career (exams recognized upon transferring from another University/changing degree programs/shortening/master, exams taken during mobility, brought forward, etc.), the student must confirm them during the compilation of the study plan. It is not possible to select other courses and take other exams instead of these already recognized or taken.
- If an additional course has been taken and registered in the academic booklet, it cannot be considered among the credits eligible for the awarding of the degree title (basic/core/elective courses or other activities).
- Students who wish to take a core course and/or elective course while studying abroad in the context of a Double Degree, a Structured Partnership, an International Exchange Program, the Free Mover Program or a Summer School and to sit the associated exam must select the general options Core Abroad, Mandatory Abroad and/or Elective Abroad. The exam - if passed - will be included in the student’s academic record and the student will be awarded the number of credits that their own degree program specifications attribute to core/electives. It should be noted that it is necessary that courses have already been approved in accordance with the procedures laid down for every mobility program Further Information>. Should the exam for the core course and/or elective course taken abroad not be passed, the student must inform the Student Office of the exam that they intend to take at Luiss, in substitution of Core Abroad, Mandatory Abroad and/or Elective Abroad, from among the courses that have been activated and, only for the electives, that are not already full.
In order to make a conscious decision, students have to check the lists and syllabi of the courses published in the Guide to the compilation of study plans of the Graduate School.
Other Activities to prepare for the labor market ("Altre conoscenze utili per l'inserimento nel mondo del lavoro")
In order to make a conscious decision and for information regarding Other Activities, students must refer to the Other Activities section of the Graduate School.
Language courses
In order to make a conscious decision and for information regarding language courses, students must refer to the University Language Center (CLA).
- DECEMBER 2024 (I year A.Y. 2024-2025)
Students that are registered prior to receive a Bachelor's Degree and not yet enrolled ("iscritti alla frequenza") will be able to compile the study plan clicking on "Go to study plan page" in the Web Self Service home page.
If a selected course or course of study is not activated, the students will be contacted by the Student Office to compile their study plan again.
In order to make a conscious decision, students must refer to the Guide to the compilation of study plans of the Graduate School.
APPLICATION TO BRING FORWARD LUISS UNIVERSITY COURSES AND EXAMS
At its sitting of 28 May 2009 Luiss University’s Academic Senate decided as follows:
- students registered for Master’s Degree Programs may bring forward up to two courses in the first semester of the first year on condition that that they have obtained their Bachelor’s Degree by the Summer Session. Those students may also bring forward a further course in the second semester on condition that they have passed their preceding exams (including any courses brought forward in previous semester) and have an average grade of at least 27/30 (without considering any rounding up).
Bringing forward courses requires an application to be submitted by e-mail to the Student Office before the start of the semester of the course and must be authorized in time for attendance at lectures and subject to complying with course prerequisites.
