Matteo Laruffa, who earned his master’s degree at LUISS, has won the Young Academic prize. for the "most promising young person " as part of the annual Progressive Economy Forum in Brussels. The award was given to him for his paper on The European economic governance: problems and proposals for institutional innovations.
According to the prize’s committee, directed by the Nobel prize-winner Joseph Stiglitz and Jean-Paul Fitoussi, Matteo’s work is distinguished by its "grand, innovative vision of institutional reform of European economic governance." Fitoussi, a LUISS professor, announced the winners of the call for papers.
Matteo presented his work at the headquarters of the European Parliament and responded to questions from participants from all over Europe. His paper will be published in the academic journal Progressive Economic Journal and distributed throughout Europe.
Matteo graduated on November 25, 2014 with a master’s degree in International Relations, under the supervision of Professor Sergio Fabbrini.
