The Call for Application for two collaboration contracts the NextGenerationEU project TRUSTSCIENC is now online. Interested candidates should present their application by June 13, 2025, at 3:00 pm (CEST, UTC+2).

 The Call for Applications for two collaboration contracts on the project TRUSTSCIENC is now online.

 TRUSTSCIENC aims to comprehending how and why science denial can be pernicious yet pervasive and, eventually, erode institutional trust. First, it aims to extend current knowledge on the antecedents (the causes) and the effects of denial. Second, to disclose its interplay with institutional trust and erosion by identifying the underlying drivers and mechanisms, and in which social and cultural contexts science denial can flourish and diffuse. In sum, the overall objective of this project is to theorize and offer empirical evidence on the nature of science denial and its consequences at the collective level.

 The purpose of this comparative evaluation selection procedure is to select 2 collaborators with different level of seniority, who will work in group with the scientific responsible on the project and will carry out the following activities which are connected to the WP 2 and 3 of the project.

 The Senior Collaborator is asked to perform the following research activities:

  • updated review of the relevant literature (institutional theory and rhetoric, institutional distrust); 

  • data collection aimed at building an empirical case.

 The Junior Collaborator is asked to perform the following activities:

  • integration and organization of data collected from the X platform (Twitter) and other social media where science denialist movements have been active and are still present. 

  • development of a data coding program that allows the interpretation of a high volume of information; - preliminary analysis of the coded data and support for the drafting of intermediate reports.

 The contract will start on the 1 day of the month following the awarding of the contract and will end on November 2025.

 The following documents must be attached to the application:

  • Curriculum vitae in Italian. 

  • Copy of a valid identification document.

  • Declaration in lieu of certification of the qualification (Art. 46 - letter l, m, n - Presidential Decree 28 December 2000, n. 445).

  • Documentation useful for the purpose of allowing the assessment of the qualification/qualifications constituting specific admission requirements, in compliance with the legislation in force in Italy and in the country in which the qualification was issued and international treaties or agreements. 

  • Certification relating to the specific disability issued by the competent territorial medical commission, in compliance with Law 104/992 and subsequent amendments (if any).

 The selection will be based on qualifications and a possible interview and carried out by a specially appointed Evaluation Committee.

The outcome of the comparative selection procedure and the final ranking are published on the related Luiss web page, as well as the list of candidates called to a possible interview and the timetable and the method/location of the interview.
