On Saturday, September 10, 2016, Mantua’s Festivaletteratura hosted a pitching session for the Piuma category of the Meglio di un romanzo (in bozze) for 15-19 year olds.

The 13 participants from the LUISS Writing School presented two short documentaries on challenges posed by immigration and urban life to a jury including Benedetta TobagiStefania Maurizi and Christian Elia.

The winning projects are:

  • Centocelle Respira, by Francesca Guastella, Paula Stefan, Rubens Mondì, Alessia Daniele, Davide Capasso and Alice Ambrogi
  • Zamba para no morir by Margherita Pucillo, Andrea Luzzi, Federica Giaccio, Maria Vittoria De Robertis, Luisa Epifani, Leonardo Piselli and Alice Laglia

The projects focused on the rebirth of the Centocelle neighborhood in Rome’s outskirts and the history of the Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio which uses music to bring people from around the world together.

Each of the three-minute videos was made entirely by the students.
