On Friday, July 8, 2016, LUISS presented the Summer School 2016 project in collaboration with the Chief of Staff of the Italian Army, offering students the opportunity to performed internships with the Italian armed forces.
After last year’s successful first edition involving 15 students, this year’s group will have the chance to participate in a domestic phase and a period abroad alongside currently stationed soldiers.
From July 8 to July 19, participants will attend a series of preparatory sessions at the Army Training Base in Civitavecchia before engaging in a series of practical activities in Kosovo at the Multinational Battle Group West.
The Summer School 2016 project was launched in order to integrate students’ academic courses with real-life military situations, allowing them to obtain direct and concrete experience in the military’s role in national foreign policy.
“We are very proud of this agreement with the Italian Army and the Summer School project, currently in its second year,” states LUISS General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto. “Every year, more students participate in opportunities to learn on the field. Giving them the chance to gain deeper understanding of things they study in books, enhances their education and increases their awareness.”
