The 2016-2017 application period for International Exchange Programs closed on February 1, with a 31% increase in the number of applications for a total of 1,236. The increase is mostly due to students from the Department of Business and Management. On the other hand, fewer applications were sent from Law students, partly as a consequence of the project for the academic recognition of Summer Schools.
Students preferred universities offering courses in English, particularly in Europe.
However, the students' interest in Spanish-speaking universities has shown an increase: for the first time all the available spots have been filled. Meanwhile, French-speaking destinations were less popular.
The new exchange agreements signed by LUISS with universities in Brazil (Fundação Getulio Vargas and FGV Direito in San Paolo), Russia (Higher School of Economics in Moscow), and Vietnam (National Economics University and the Foreign Trade University, both in Hanoi) were warmly welcomed by students.
