A curricular internship is a training experience in the field that can be carried out in Italy or abroad, in institutions and/or employers (companies, professional firms, organizations, other universities, associations, research centers) both in public and private sector. Through the curricular internship the students can put into practice the theoretical acquired skills during their degree program and move towards their future career path.
An internship can be:
- “mandatory” curricular/with ECTs, carried out as student, as per the study program and its necessary acquisition of university credits (ECTs), and must be completed before the graduation;
- “optional” curricular/without ECTs, carried out as student but without the acquisition of ECTs, and must be completed before the graduation;
- extracurricular, carried out as graduate not enrolled in another university course of study. The maximum duration is regulated according to the Region in which the internship is carried out.
HOW TO ACTIVATE A CURRICULAR INTERNSHIP
The host institution or employer must submit a curricular internship online, at least 5 business days before the start date, by following the instructions on this page, Curricular Internship Activation Request. The activation request cannot be made by students.

HOW TO FIND A CURRICULAR INTERNSHIP
To apply for open positions, students are encouraged to browse company profiles, and participate in meetings and events with employers presented on the Career Center portal.
Students can also apply independently through the employers’ company websites by consulting the “Work with us” or “Careers” sections.
A team of advisors, specialized in different professional fields, is available to support students to draft and review their CVs for an effective application. Students can upload the updated version of their CV on their online profile and use it when submitting applications via the Career Center portal.
