On 2 October, during the “Global Governance on AI” event, our University had the honour of hosting Brad Smith, President and Vice Chair of Microsoft.
The meeting, attended by our senior leadership, provided an important opportunity for dialogue between Mr Smith, students, and the entire academic community on the challenges and opportunities associated with the development of artificial intelligence.
During the event, critical reflections emerged regarding the need to establish an ethical and sustainable governance framework to ensure the responsible use of new technologies. Mr Smith emphasised that in a context of rapid technological innovation, it is essential to integrate advances in AI with humanistic values and social science methodologies.
