Luiss student Pier Vincenzo Cucinella started out as an undergraduate, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Management and then on to an exchange program in Canada. He then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Economics and Management. He was selected to enter the QTEM Masters Network, and with it, to study abroad, at the BI Norwegian Business School. He's currently taking a semester abroad of study at the Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom.
It's here where, along with another Luiss student, Stefano Ciccarelli, that he took part in the Warwick Investment Challenge, a highly prestigious prize aimed at those in the financial markets. It proved to be quite a commitment, especially in the planning stages, where the duo set out to collect data and publish a detailed report of their findings. But he doesn't look back, saying: "It's something I would really encourage everyone to jump right in and do – either challenges or business cases. It helps you really find out if where you're headed is really the right place for you."
As for Pier Vincenzo, he has a really positive view of QTEM, both academically and socially speaking. "Being able to create a network of persons with vastly different backgrounds is really stimulating and exciting." Above the services and numerous opportunities on offer, one of the strong suits he found at Luiss was "the care of the student body". I played soccer for AS Luiss, joined a number of associations and organized events. In Italy, Luiss offers the most well-rounded education one can ask for."
Looking back on all his experiences, he had a lot of great memories, but for him, the highlight was "the goal and victory in the soccer semifinals championship against the Foro Italico team. There were tons of fans, people in the stands, cheers and pure joy."
After winning the Investment Challenge, Pier Vincenzo now knows that he would like to pursue a career path in the world of financial markets. "Work in this field isn't a drag...in fact, I find it really thrilling."
