Luiss has 1 Erasmus Teaching Grant for the 2020-2021 academic year, to be allocated to a Luiss faculty members in one of the following categories:
- Adjunct Professor
- Assistant Professor
- Associate Professor
- Full Professor
- Senior Lecturer
The grant is exclusively assigned for a period of teaching abroad at Luiss Erasmus Partner Institution for teaching assignments.

Selection
A dedicated Commission will evaluate applications and the results of the selection will be communicated by the end of February 2021.
Priority will be given to applications according to the following criteria:
- An agreement in which the professor’s teaching period will be fully integrated into the host institution’s study program
- An agreement that will be used to consolidate and enlarge relationships among departments and faculties and to prepare future cooperation projects
Moreover, the Commission will positively consider:
- Application from professors who have not previously participated in mobility programs
- Application for mobility towards potential advanced strategic partner universities
Financial rules
- The total amount available for the grant is a maximum € 915.00
- Staff Mobilities for Teaching without grants are also allowed by the program
Please note
The grant will be the sum of the contribution for the stay and the contribution for travel expenses. The contribution for the stay is calculated based on a fixed-rate chart, depending on the admissible length of stay (number of days). The contribution for travel expenses will be added to this amount, and it will be calculated based on a fixed-rate chart, depending on the distance traveled. The travel distances must be calculated using the distance calculator available on the Erasmus+ website.
Beneficiaries proceeding on Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching should retain boarding cards/train tickets/other travel tickets which need to be submitted along with the documentation of the mobility.
Travel arrangements not directly related to the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching, such as travel to conferences or any other visits before/after the Erasmus+ mobility, will not be considered eligible.
Important deadlines
- Application deadline: January 29, 2021 at 5:00 pm CET
- Notification of results by the end of February 2021
- The period abroad must take place between March and June 2021
Important details for the mobility period
The mobility period must last a minimum of 2 days of activity and a maximum of 5 days of activity (the days of activity must be consecutive). Maximum 2 days are allowed for travel: 1 day prior to the start of the mobility and 1 day after the end of the mobility.
The teaching activity must comprise a minimum of 8 hours of lectures.
Before departure, in order to be eligible for the program, the professor (categories indicated above) will have to prepare the Mobility Agreement - Staff Mobility for Teaching including a Teaching Program indicating the objectives, the added value of the mobility, the teaching content and the expected outcome. It will have to be presented and signed by both the Home and the host institutions.
Furthermore, an Agreement with the Home Institution (Professor/home institution agreement) will have to be signed.
During the mobility, the professor must receive the certificate stating the duration, the hours, and scope of the mobility issued by the host institution.
At the end of the mobility, within 30 days of returning, the professor will prepare a report on the goals achieved by filling out an online questionnaire (EU Survey). Please kindly note that the grant will not be issued without completing all necessary documents.
Please note: due to the ongoing measures related to Covid-19 and consequent restrictions on international travels, in case the in-person mobility should turn out to be impossible in the scheduled period, the mobility can be carried out in virtual mode instead if offered by the host university. However, no financial contribution will be recognized for this type of activity and the signing of the professor/home institution agreement will not be necessary.
Nevertheless, participation must be properly documented, including the confirmation of program completion and the final report (EU Survey).
