Luiss University joined the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), an initiative of the Outreach Division of the United Nations Department of Global Communications. The UNAI comprises an extensive network of over 1,400 institutions representing more than 145 member countries.

The UNAI is an initiative that aligns institutions of higher education with the United Nations to support therealization of the United Nations goals and mandates through research and education. In its pursuit of this goal, the UNAI carries out activities to support and advance its ten principles:

  1. A commitment to addressing issues of poverty through education,
  2. A commitment to building capacity in higher education systems across the world,
  3. A commitment to educational opportunities for all people regardless of gender, race, religion, andethnicity,
  4. A commitment to encourage global citizenship through education,
  5. A commitment to the opportunity for every interested individual to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for the pursuit of higher education,
  6. A commitment to human rights, including the freedom of inquiry, opinion, and speech,
  7. A commitment to promote intercultural dialogue and understanding and the “unlearning” of intolerancethrough education,
  8. A commitment to advance peace and conflict resolution through education,
  9. A commitment to promote sustainability through education, and
  10. A commitment to the principles inherent in the United Nations Charter.

The Faculty must commit to encouraging students to undertake at least one of activity that is linked to the 10 UNAI principles or Sustainable Development Goals.
