LabGov was established at Luiss Guido Carli University in 2011 as a soft skills workshop. It then evolved into an applied research workshop at Luiss ICEDD. In 2015, alumni took over management. Since 2017, LabGov has also been active at Georgetown University.
LabGov offers an annual Interdisciplinary Urban Clinic as part of Luiss Soft Skills programming, with the end goal of co-designing public policy and/or prototype civic entrepreneurship projects that generate forms of sustainable development.
Every year, LabGov promotes a new civic regeneration project for urban common goods and/or incubates and accelerates community-based companies, elaborates public policy aimed at creating new jobs, reducing inequality, founds collective institutions and applies innovation to law.
