Master of Science in Economics (MOSEC)

First-level master's degree

LUISS offers a unique opportunity for students who want in-depth knowledge of the field of economics. The Master of Science in Economics (MOSEC), a one-year specialization program held entirely in English provides rigorous training in economics.

The academic program of the first year is common to both MOSEC and the Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance.

Students graduated from MOSEC have been admitted to the best and most prestigious Ph.D. programs in Economics in the world. The Master of Science in Economics provides a rigorous and challenging training through courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics. Students will acquire an in-depth understanding of the field and will be prepared for successful professional or academic careers.

MOSEC is a full-time program structured in two semesters, from September to May. In September students are required to take an introductory course in mathematics and econometrics. Each semester will offer advanced courses in the fields of macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics and mathematics.

Director: Prof. Paolo Benigno, full professor of International Finance, Department of Business and Management and Department of Economics and Finance.
