First Certification for a Non-State University

Luiss Guido Carli, together with Luiss Business School and Luiss Executive Management Education, has obtained the Corporate Certification on Gender Equality, issued by the global body, Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in accordance with RP 125:2022.

International Recognition

Luiss is the first non-state university to receive this certification from an international, external, and independent body, demonstrating its commitment to promoting the values of diversity and inclusion

How We Reached This Milestone

This achievement is the result of a journey that began with the approval of the first Gender Equality Plan and the first Gender Balance Sheet in 2022. Over the years, Luiss has implemented various measures to support gender equality, including parenting support, flexible work arrangements for faculty and staff, inclusive recruitment practices, and the promotion of academic careers for professors and researchers. The University has also conducted awareness-raising campaigns and events, and enriched its educational offerings with courses dedicated to diversity and inclusion.

Tangible Results

As a result of these initiatives, the University experienced a significant transformation in 2023. Associate professors now account for around 42% of the total, and female researchers represent 64%. Among the staff, around 70% are women. Female students make up 48.5% of the student body, and female international students outnumber male peers by 57.6%.
