Luiss University’s Board of Directors has appointed Nando Pagnoncelli as the new President of Luiss School of Government, the University's postgraduate school specialising in higher education in politics and policy making.
President of Ipsos Italia and one of the leading experts on public opinion at national level, Nando Pagnoncelli has led over 2,500 surveys published in the media, more than 1,800 electoral and citizen satisfaction surveys, and over 500 surveys on business reputation. He is the author of numerous essays and publications, works with newspapers and television programmes, and is active in university education and the third sector. In 2021 he received the ASSIRM Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2023 he was bestowed with the honour of Commendatore of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
"I am honoured to assume the presidency of Luiss School of Government, at a time when the issue of educating a new class of public and private sector decision-makers, capable of interpreting the changes taking place in the relationship between citizens and institutions, is more topical than ever", said Nando Pagnoncelli. "I am happy to make my experience available to the School to help strengthen its role in the national and international arena."
As President, he will join Dean Gaetano Quagliariello in strengthening the School's commitment to interdisciplinary and international education.
Among the priorities is the expansion of Luiss in Milan thanks to the launch of new master's programmes in the Lombardy capital, which will see, as early as next autumn, the start of the intensive course for preparing for a diplomatic career.
