Luiss graduate Jacopo Resti currently lives in Khartum, Sudan, where he works as a United Nations Fellow with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. “After a year with European institutions and agencies, I decided to get experience in the field.”
After completing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Jacopo earned a Double Degree in Governance and Global Affairs in collaboration with the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). Jacopo chose Luiss precisely for its “solid and rich international network in Europe and the world.”
During his time at Luiss, Jacopo participated in numerous international programs, from an Erasmus project in Brussels to his year in Moscow and an internship at the Italian Embassy in Addis Abeba.
The environment at Luiss “contributed to creating a network of friendships and acquaintances that go beyond graduation." Figures that had the most influence on Jacopo were “Professor Lorenzo De Sio and Professor Flavia Lattanzi, who demonstated human qualities as well as professionalism, as well as Ferdinando Ceriani and Alice Guidi from the Luiss Theater Workshop, thanks to whom I had some of my best experiences on campus.”
To students interested in similar careers, Jacopo advises “to concentrate on your personal aspirations, and more important than the job you choose is the path you follow to reach your goals.”
For now, Jacopo prefers to focus on the present, as Pliny the Elder stated: “There is always something new coming out of Africa.”
