Luca Pisano is a recent Luiss alumnus who really has put his education to work. After completing his Bachelor's in Economics & Management, he continued at Luiss to attain a Master's Degree in Digital Managment – in the Department of Business and Management. He says he chose Luiss because "I knew that it would afford me a highly specialized and clear-cut education that I could put to good use."
Post-graduation, Luca was hired by a consulting firm, responsible for automating processes. From here came the coronavirus pandemic and its fallout. So Luca got to work creating a site, iltuoturno.it (it's your turn) to solve a fairly essential issue that has arisen out of sheer necessity: The platform basically monitors Italy's supermarket lines to help citizens navigate when and where to go for their basic necessities. "I put to use my technical background on processes into developing the site – it serves as an aggregator of information compiled from a number of different providers to give the most accurate readings possible for each store," he explains.
For Luiss, thinking back on his university experience, one of the best parts was time spent at the Luiss Loft – thinking up ideas for startups and exchanging innovative entrepreneurial initiatives. "Being able to share my own experience with others, gave us all the opportunitiy to explore what it was we were passionate about and test out our interests," he explains. One of his instructors who he believes influenced his professional goals most was Prof. Paolo Spganoletti: "He always took the approach with our studies towards professional applications."
For students following his footsteps, Luca recommends "pursuing a technological route, such as machine learning. Look for the latest trends and burgeoning areas, and concentrate on that." Luca would like to continue his professional growth in consulting, eventually creating his own startup sometime in the not so far future.
