Starting Thursday, May 28 – the first episode of A Threepenny Opera in the Time of Coronavirus" will be posted online. The performances – in Italian - are the result of a transformation of the original show into an online experiment by the actors and Director of the Luiss Theater Troupe.

The show weaves the main scenes of the Brecht opera with scenes by Karl Valentine and Max Aub. Set in the darkened passageways of the grotesque London underbelly, a bizarre cast of characters – from a quack to brokers to astrologers – it recounts in words and verse their stories across the web.

The show will be delivered in a series of micro-scenes played out online. Spectators can view them in order or as single episodes. Each part will go live on a weekly basis, painting a colourful picture of the vices and virtues of our contemporary society.
