The opening event of the “Luiss Cultural Heritage Initiative” entitled “Developing Cultural Heritage in the light of the RRP and Next Generation EU” was held on Friday 3 December. This was an occasion to explore and discuss the opportunities that the Recovery Plan funds offer to cultural heritage and cultural institutions. Lorenzo Casini, Head of Cabinet of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, engaged in the debate. The roundtable included local administrators, national museum directors, representatives of the third sector and academics.
The Luiss Cultural Heritage Initiative stems from the political, social and economic value of cultural heritage, whose development depends on the cooperation between different organizations and representatives of the public, private and third sectors often working separately and at different territorial levels. With the Next Generation EU and RRP budget planning, the need for cooperation has become more urgent, calling for concrete sustainable proposals.
The University’s initiative offers a new format for analysis and reflection, bringing together academics, administrators, policymakers working at the local, national, and international levels, directors of cultural institutes and representatives of the entrepreneurial world, to create a network of key actors working for cultural heritage and in the creative sectors. The events will draw on the common strategies placing culture at the center of social and economic recovery plan, and will allow participants to actively engage in new forms of cooperation.
