On 7 and 8 May, one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year returned to the University’s Viale Romania campus: Luiss Career Day, now in its XXIX edition. A unique opportunity for graduate students and recent graduates to come into direct contact with the world of work and discover new career opportunities.
With the title of Step Into Your Future, the event fostered contact between academic education and employability, enhancing the dialogue between aspirations, skills and concrete opportunities in a context marked by rapid technological, economic and geopolitical transformations.
For two days, from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., over 160 businesses and law firms – including major Italian and international players – met Luiss students in individual interviews and customised career guidance sessions. The opportunities covered a variety of fields: Consulting, Corporate, Finance, Legal, Lobbying & Public Affairs.
"The Career Day is the moment when we tangibly witness the strong links between our University and the world of work", said Enzo Peruffo, Dean of the Luiss Graduate School. "It is a great collective event, but also an extraordinary individual opportunity for each participant. For employers, it means investing in the human capital of the future; for our students and recent graduates, it constitutes a real chance to build valuable relationships, today and over time."
Once again this year's Career Day stood out for its social impact: all the businesses and law firms present are taking part in the “Social Mobility” project, contributing to the creation of a scholarship fund for deserving students, reinforcing the University's commitment to fair and inclusive access to quality education.
In addition, the “Best Employer” initiative allowed the graduates and students to vote for the worthiest employer based on their experience during the event. The award ceremony for the winners will be held in November, at a new networking event.
The University’s strong links with the labour market translate into concrete results: 96% of graduates find employment within a year of graduating, a percentage that rises to 97% in the economic-business field.
