Luiss University promotes and holds DELE Exam in association with the Instituto Cervantes of Rome, a public institution founded by Spanish Government with the aim of promoting teaching and study of Spanish language and in order to spread abroad Hispanic cultures.

DELE Diplomas issued by the Instituto Cervantes are international certifications released on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education and attest the knowledge of the Spanish language. DELE certification never expires and is recognized worldwide, moreover, it facilitates intercultural exchange, the access to education and personal professional growth.
DELE exam assesses the four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.

Who can register for the DELE exam
Subscription prerequisite
All Luiss students included off-track who, at the time of submission of the application, are regularly enrolled in a bachelor, master or single cycle degree program for the ongoing academic year.
Therefore, applications cannot be submitted by students coming from other universities who, at the moment of submission, are registered for a master’s degree program at Luiss prior to receiving their bachelor’s degree.
Language prerequisite
Applications to take the DELE exam will be accepted solely from students who have obtained a (final or interim) language level at Luiss equal to or higher than A2.2.
Test ad hoc
Students who do not meet the language prerequisite must take an assessment test (written and oral) to demonstrate a level at or above A2.2.
Furthermore, students who - despite having already taken the final Spanish exam at Luiss before the Summer exam sessions for 2023-2024 a.y. (May - June 2024) - have achieved a level that does not meet the one required, can take a level test.
Students attending Spanish courses ongoing in Luiss, who are supposed to achieve an interim/final level before the application deadline, are not allowed to sit the assessment test.
The test is to be taken starting from Monday September 23 to Tuesday October 1, 2024 in accordance with the set procedures and timing that will be communicated to the candidate.
The test result is only essential for assessing the language skills required to sit the DELE exam. For this reason, after the test no certificate of Spanish level will be issued.
