The extracurricular internship is a training period – for a maximum duration of 6 months – designed for newly graduates to gain work experience in companies, public institutions, and/or professional firms. The purpose of extracurricular internships is to introduce graduates to the job market. It does not correspond to a labor contract.
This type of internship is regulated by the “Internship Guidelines” and by the Italian Regions and Autonomous Provinces regulations that have their own regional standards; i.e. the implementation instructions and the monthly minimum retribution.
The extracurricular internship activation cannot be carried out by graduates; it must be done by the employer/hosting institution.
Request to activate an extracurricular internship:
- Extracurricular internship (for graduates)- based in the Regione Lazio: Please send an email to tirociniextracurriculari@luiss.it attaching the following documents:
- "Data Collection form" filled out;
- Professional figure details according to the Nomenclature and Classification of Professional Units;
- Organization’s tutor updated CV in pdf format.
Once these documents are well-received, the internship will be activated within 10 working days.
- Extracurricular internship (for graduates) - based in Italy (out of the Regione Lazio): Please contact the Career Service Office at tirociniextracurriculari@luiss.it, indicating the full name of the intern and the place of the internship. The Career Service Office will provide you with the required documents.
- Extracurricular internship abroad (for graduates): Please send an email tirociniextracurriculari@luiss.it attaching the following documents:
- “Project Form” filled out and not signed.
- "Internship Agreement" filled out and not signed.
Once these documents are well-received, the internship will be activated within 10 working days.
