Luiss benefits from 2 Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching Grants for A.Y. 2023/2024, to be allocated to Luiss faculty members who are currently working at Luiss and will continue to do so for the foreseen mobility period. For further reference, please check the Application form, where the full list of included academic positions is reported.

Application

Interested Faculty Members intending to send an application for this Call are kindly asked to submit the following documents to the Faculty Mobility Office, by sending an email to facultymobility@luiss.it:

  • Application form;
  • Curriculum Vitae;
  • Declaration of interest from the selected university* confirming the possibility of hosting the candidate for the proposed activity.

The deadline for applications is Friday, February 16, 2024 at 5.00pm (CET)

*Please note: Grants are assigned for a period of teaching abroad within the Erasmus+ Program at a Luiss Erasmus+ Partner Institution for teaching assignments.

The current list of Luiss Partner Institutions for the Erasmus+ Program can be found here.  The list includes Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching partners and Erasmus+ Student Mobility partners. For the latter, an Inter-Institutional Agreement will need to be signed specifically for teaching assignments before the Mobility takes place: the Faculty Mobility Office will be able to take care of this, should the application be successful.

It is recommended to choose a Hosting Institution for the application from among those included in the abovementioned list.

Nevertheless, candidates may also send applications for other Institutions (with approved ECHE – Erasmus Charter for Higher Education – 2021/2027), however a dedicated commission (responsible for the selection procedure) will need to evaluate the possibility of proceeding with the relevant Inter-Institutional Agreement, in addition to evaluating the application itself.

Selection

A dedicated Commission will evaluate applications and the results of the selection will be communicated by February 23, 2024.

Priority will be given to applications according to the following criteria:

  • Full integration of the Professor’s teaching period within the host institution’s study program.
  • The possibility to consolidate and enlarge relationships among departments and faculties and to prepare future cooperation projects.

Moreover, the Commission will positively consider:

  • Applications for hosting institutions which, other than Partners for the Erasmus+ Program, are also part of the ENGAGE.EU alliance (please check the relevant list here).
  • Applications from professors who have not previously taken part in mobility programs.
  • Applications for mobility towards current and potential advanced strategic partner Universities.

Financial Rules

The grant will be the sum of the contribution for the stay and the contribution for travel expenses.

The contribution for the stay is calculated based on a fixed-rate chart, depending on the admissible length of stay (number of days) and the destination. The contribution for travel expenses will be added to this amount and will be calculated based on a fixed-rate chart, depending on the distance traveled. The travel distances must be calculated using the distance calculator available on the Erasmus+ website.

Please check the “Technical Notes” document in the “Useful Materials” section for further information on the abovementioned fixed-rate charts. Furthermore, if you would like to receive more detailed information concerning green travel options, please do not hesitate to contact the Faculty Mobility Office.

Beneficiaries proceeding on Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching should retain boarding cards/train tickets/other travel tickets which need to be submitted along with the documentation of the mobility.

Travel arrangements not directly related to the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching, such as travel to conferences or any other visits before/after the Erasmus+ mobility, will not be considered eligible.

Staff Mobilities for Teaching without grants are also allowed by the Program.

Deadlines and Dates

  • Application deadline: February 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. (Italian local time)
  • Notification of results by February 23, 2024
  • The period abroad must be between March 18, 2024 and the end of July 2024

Important Details for the Mobility Period

The mobility period must last a minimum of 2 days of activity and a maximum of 5 days of activity (the days of activity must be consecutive). A maximum of 2 days is allowed for standard travel: 1 day prior to the start of the mobility and 1 day after the end of the mobility, from and to Italy (country of origin).

The teaching activity must comprise a minimum of 8 hours of lectures.

Before departure, to be eligible for the Program, Professors will need to prepare the Mobility Agreement - Staff Mobility for Teaching, including a Teaching Program indicating the objectives, the added value of the mobility, the teaching content, and the expected outcome. This must be presented to and signed by both the Home and the Host institutions.

Furthermore, an Agreement with the Home Institution (Professor/home institution agreement) will need to be signed.

During the mobility, the Professor must receive a Certificate stating the duration, the hours, and scope of the mobility issued by the Host institution.

At the end of the mobility, within 10 days of returning, the Professor will be required to fill out an online questionnaire (EU Survey) sent by the European Commission – Commissione Europea – at end of the mobility period.

Please kindly note that the grant will not be issued without completing all necessary documents.
