Classe di Laurea LM-77(Scienze economico-aziendali)

Presentation

The program is held entirely in English

The master’s program is offered by the Department of Business and Management in cooperation with the Department of Political Science.

The Master's degree program in Global Management and Politics – held entirely in English – complements topics related to management with socio-political issues, as global managers must be aware of the intricacies of world politics.

The initiative stems from the need to offer interdisciplinary and international training to allow graduates to easily master the skills required by companies and institutions operating on a global scale. A strategic analysis carried out by Luiss has demonstrated an increased need to respond to economic and institutional changes by adopting inter and trans-disciplinary educational approaches. The course of study, therefore, develops around an intersection of fields necessary to undertake specific career paths, to which programs in Economics, Management and Political Science currently provide only partial answers. This need is particularly felt in graduate programs, as natural and immediate channels towards the labor market.

The program starts with the exploration of the economic, legal and economic-business foundations of global management. The course of studies then focuses on organizational and strategic issues and, finally, ends with the analysis of important issues related to the political implications of globalization, international relations, the dynamics of international governmental and non-governmental organizations and activities related to representing corporate, stakeholder and institutional interests.

Employment and professional opportunities for graduates

The master’s program trains professionals to perform managerial and specialist functions within international organizations (profit and non-profit), and, in particular, in the context of global industrial companies and services, strategic consultancy firms, as well as institutions operating at the supranational and international levels.

The program creates professional figures who can predict, support and govern complex phenomena that require interdisciplinary approaches and skills. Specifically, reference is made to the professional opportunities related to positions of responsibility in international companies and institutions, consultancy firms operating at the global level,  representing interests (lobbying) at the international and institutional levels, as well as complex interactions with government and non-governmental global organizations.

The expected professional profile differs from the ones acquired via a pure managerial education due to the addition of political skills, including: understanding political and bureaucratic logics compared to the corporate world; perception of how national and international public institutions are changing, and how managers should interact with them; risk assessment with respect to political-institutional transformations.
