Double Degree in Economics with Solvay Brussels School of Economics & Management

Solvay

Highlights

The program provides students with a quantitative approach, with a special focus on Econometrics and Mathematical Methods, thanks to an outstanding and world-class faculty in the field of Economics and a challenging study plan. Selected students will spend one year in Brussels, international city and capital of the European Union, with the chance to get in touch with the main European Institutions.

The program is structured as follows:

  • the first year is carried out at Luiss (Rome)
  • the second year is carried out at Solvay (Brussels)

Application process 

Details regarding the application procedure, the selection process, deadlines, and further information, will be contained in the relevant call for applications. In case of doubts about the documents to upload or to get further information about the requested documents, students are invited to contact the International Development Office before the application deadline.

Students who are selected for a Double Degree program have to respect the relevant study plan. They need to accept all the changes listed in the study plan, especially with reference to the languages and other activities.

Who can apply

Students enrolled in the first year of the Luiss Master’s program in Economics and Finance, major in Economics, can apply to this program.

Available slots

Every year 5 students can take part in the program.

Requirements (updated for the mobility year 2025-2026)

Candidates for this program should have the following requirements:

  • Weighted average grade equal to or above 26/30
  • Students are required to cover at least 2 among their core courses by the 17th of February
  • Final grade for the Bachelor’s Degree equal to or above 100/110

As for English, students must possess at least a C1 level (European Framework of Reference), to be proved by one of the following certifications:

  • TOEFL min. 91/120 IBT
  • IELTS min. 7.0
  • Duolingo min. 125
  • Cambridge: CPE, CAE, FCE min. grade A
  • Accademica linguistica Trinity School di Roma
  • Luiss University Language Center
  • International Secondary School Diploma totally taught in English
  • Bachelor’s Degree totally taught in English

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be ranked based on their academic performance score, currently calculated according to the following criteria:

Registered ECTS credits 33%
Registered ECTS credits for Internship 2%
Weighted GPA 35%
English language level 25%
Bachelor's Degree final grade 5%

Registered ECTS credits: The academic score will take under consideration all registered credits valid towards one’s degree (excluding internships). Credits must be registered by the deadline indicated in the Call for Applications (17 of February 2025). Please note that additional courses (corsi liberi) will not be taken into consideration.
