Housing in Utrecht
Interested students should be aware that finding suitable and affordable housing in Utrecht is very difficult, since Utrecht is one of the most popular cities in the Netherlands. Dutch universities generally do not own any student housing, so finding accommodation is your own responsibility. However, Utrecht University provides detailed information on housing and they host live webinars in December, April and June that specifically focus on finding housing. In July and August, two dedicated Housing Support Officers are appointed to assist and advise. Furthermore, international students can take part in a Reserved Accomodation Programme (you need an approved registration before you can book and participation is not guaranteed: mark the deadlines in your calendar if you are interested). Selected students are advised to start the housing search as soon as possible and to arrange housing prior to the start of the academic year. Take into account that it might be necessary to travel to Utrecht ahead of the start of the programme to secure accommodation.
Note:
- Students who are selected for a Structured Exchange Program are required to comply with the relevant study plan.
- Students are required to accept changes of the study plan, especially with reference to the languages and other activities.
