The Summer University course Connecting Europe with China along the Silk Road adopts a multidisciplinary approach, combining interdisciplinary and comprehensive training for students who aim to develop a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges of the relationship between China and Europe in the light of the Belt and Road Initiative.  This innovative summer course offers a true learning experience for students who wish to know about China's and its growing impact on Europe. Topics include but not limited to: Europe-China cultural and diplomatic relations, security and economic international cooperation, Italy and China cooperation in the business, industrial and environmental sectors. The two weeks summer course combines lectures, seminars and extra-curricular activities.

The course includes two core modules. Students have the opportunity to choose either a one-week or two-week program.

Week 1: "Connecting Europe with China" 1 -China's relations with Europe (focus on historical, political and economic relations)

Week 2: "Connecting Europe with China" 2 -China's relations with Europe (focus on cooperation in the business, industrial and environmental sectors)

The course structure includes company and international organization visits, at least two per module. Please note that some visits may be subject to change

Fees:

  • Tuition fee with accommodation € 1.600 (per week)

  • Academic program
  • Experiential learning
  • Guided tour and various cultural activities in Rome
  • Free shuttle bus among Luiss campuses
  • Access to the university's facilities (cafeteria, library, the Language Café)
  • Students have a special discount for eating at the cafeteria
